The Presidency of Religious Affairs has an enormous responsibility in the administration of religious services in modern Turkey. This book includes papers and speeches addressing various aspects of the Presidency of Religious Affairs to demonstrate the fact that it cannot remain indifferent to vital issues concerning various aspects of religion which is a strong social reality today. I share my views and visions in this book in the capacity of a scholar working on Islam for more than twenty years and as well as the President of Religious Affairs. I hope that readers will have a better understanding of the position of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, religion and society, Islam and democracy and co-existence differences in Turkey. The book ends with appendixes which include samples of press releases by the Presidency of Religious Affairs to indicate that the Presidency did not remain silent on issues and questions which are related to religious symbols and discourses.
